Newcastle linked with a move for Francois Kamano
Newcastle United are in the race to sign Bordeaux star Francois Kamano, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Guinean has enjoyed an exceptional start to the season in Ligue 1, netting an impressive total of five goals from just seven appearances so far.
Kamano’s displays in France have earned him plenty of plaudits and it seems his development has caught the eye of clubs across Europe, with Newcastle among the sides to have been linked with a move.
The 22-year-old has been at Bordeaux since 2016 but appears to have found himself in a purple patch of form as he continues to impress on the left-hand side.
Newcastle are sure to be keen on overseeing a busy January transfer window as Rafa Benitez’s men look to avoid the drop down to the Championship.
However, if the Magpies are to pursue a deal to sign Kamano from Bordeaux, they will be faced with stiff competition. According to Calciomercato, Brighton and Hove Albion and newly-promoted Fulham are both also keen.
