Newcastle are among the teams to express an interest in Middlesbrough youngster Bilal Brahimi, according to reports in France.
France Football report that Newcastle, Rennes and RB Leipzig are all keeping tabs on the young player’s development.
Brahimi joined Middlesbrough in the summer of 2017 after moving from Portugal, but has impressed at youth level and is emerging as a contender for Tony Pulis’ first-team squad.
The player is yet to sign a professional contract at Middlesbrough, something the club are hoping to change, according to the report.
However, the Championship club could struggle to tie him down should clubs continue to express their interest in the player.
He made his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup back in August, coming off the bench in a 2-1 win over Rochdale.
While Rafa Benitez is unlikely to consider the player for his first-team squad immediately, he could certainly be viewed as one for the future.
