# Newcastle given major fitness boost as trio return for Palace clash

Newcastle are set for a major fitness boost with as many as three first-team players set to return to action against Crystal Palace.

[Lee Ryder of Chronicle Live reports](https://twitter.com/lee_ryder/status/1043124946388611072) that Jamaal Lascelles, Jonjo Shelvey and Salomon Rondon have all been passed fit to feature against Roy Hodgson’s men.

Ryder’s reports do not suggest whether or not the player are set to start, but given there were concerns over their availability, it’ll come as a huge boost for Rafa Benitez, who will be looking to kickstart the Magpies’ season with a win over Palace.

Both Shelvey and Rondon started on the bench against Arsenal, while Lascelles was taken off early.

Rondon will be out to break his duck in the Premier League for Newcastle, with the striker yet to find the back of the net domestically since joining from West Brom.

Newcastle currently sit alongside Burnley at the bottom of the Premier League with just a point to their name.
