Newcastle are sweating on the availability of captain Jamaal Lascelles for their clash with Crystal Palace.
Lascelles is a doubt after he went off injured against Arsenal last weekend. Newcastle lost 2-1 to the Gunners and Lascelles was forced to limp off the pitch with an ankle injury.
The Newcastle skipper twisted his ankle during the game and Rafa Benitez has claimed that he may miss the next few games in the Premier League.
Speaking to Football London, Benitez said this:
He twisted his ankle, so now we have to assess and decide..
To play against Crystal Palace, Leicester, Manchester United in the next games is not easy.
Newcastle are also waiting to see whether Jonjo Shelvey is fit enough to play, having sat on the bench against Arsenal.
He was not 100% fit to play, but could make a return against Palace if he proves his fitness in training this week.
