Newcastle remain without a win so far this season after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at St James Park.
The Magpies failed to get another win, with Arsenal scoring two early goals in the second half to dispatch of Rafa Benitez’ side, with Ciaran Clark scoring a late consolation goal for Newcastle.
The first half went well for the Magpies however, but questions will still be asked about how they are still waiting for the first win of the season.
Here’s how we rated the Magpies performance today.
Martin Dubravka 6
Quiet first half but poor in the second for the two goals.
DeAndre Yedlin 6
International break took it’s toll but lucky to not pick up an injury.
Jamaal Lascelles 7
Taken off after the break, but did well during the first half.
Federico Fernandez - 5
Conceded the free-kick that handed Arsenal the lead.
Paul Dummett 7
Star of the defensive effort and really put a shift in.
Matt Ritchie 7
Fizzled out in the second half like most of the side.
Mo Diame 5
Helpless to cope with the danger caused by Arsenal’s midfield.
Isaac Hayden 5
Looked shattered at the end of the 90 against his former side.
Jacob Murphy 6
The former Norwich winger showed his genuine pace, but was taken off with 15 minutes to go.
Ayoze Perez 6
Didn’t offer much going forward, but was too little too late in the second half when he finally started getting some luck.
Not a good afternoon for the Spaniard.
Ciaran Clark – 7
Kenedy – 4
Yoshinori Muto – N/A
