On-loan Newcastle United star Kenedy has revealed that he is stepping up his efforts to overcome the language barrier and learn English quickly.
Speaking to Brazilian news outlet UOL Esporte, the versatile attacker discussed how he has acclimatised to life in England following his move to Chelsea from Fluminense in 2015.
Kenedy, while conceding that he has been ‘lazy’ in his efforts to get to grips with a new language, has revealed that he is undergoing private lessons to improve his communication skills.
I don’t consider it’s hard to learn, I’m lazy, really. Now, I’m with a private teacher, trying to evolve.
The young attacker impressed during his loan spell at Newcastle last term but has started the new campaign in an unconvincing manner, with a lack of composure clear for all to see.
Nevertheless, Kenedy appears to be in a positive mood and told UOL of his desire to kick on and have a strong season with Newcastle, leaving him in a good position to return to Chelsea a more refined player.
I hope this year I can make a good season for Newcastle and go back to Chelsea to continue. I have a dream to return and be a champion for the club.
