Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has spoke out to address the reason behind loanee Kenedy’s poor start to the 2018/19 season, 101 great goals reports.
After a successful loan stint with the club last campaign, the Magpies moved to secure Kenedy’s services again this season as he agreed to another season-long loan deal from Chelsea.
However, the Brazilian has so far struggled for form, with Newcastle securing just one point from their opening four League games.
Their only point so far this season came against newly promoted Cardiff City, a game that saw Kenedy miss a penalty at the end of the game which would have secured the victory for Benitez’s side.

Kenedy was subbed off after just 54 minutes in the Magpies most recent Premier League match against Manchester City and also played a full part in the side’s 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest which saw them dumped out of the League Cup.
Despite Kenedy’s poor start to the season, Benitez has backed his loanee to hit the same form for the Magpies that he did last season.
He came to us on loan last season and did really well.
Everybody expected the same level from him from the first minute of the season.
Every season is different though.
He came back to us but you still have to understand he is a young player.
He is partner has had another baby and it is a time when he needs to settle down.

But we had a conversation and we analysed things he did well and did wrong.
He knows now. He knows he has my support.
Now he needs to work hard and deliver because if he works hard he will be OK, he has the talent and he can do well.
