Newcastle have been dumped out of the League Cup on Wednesday night as they lost 3-1 to Nottingham Forest.
The Championship outfit scored twice in stoppage time at the end of the second half to secure their place in the third round, with Rafa Benitez’s side exiting the competition.
Former Newcastle forward Daryl Murphy netted after just two minutes, with Newcastle levelling the scores 90 minutes later through Salomon Rondon.
Forest then scored in the 94th and 97th minute to win the game.
Here is how we rated Newcastle’s players…
Karl Darlow: 5
Conceded three and did not look all that convincing between the sticks.
Jaime Sterry: 4
Failed to impress. Was poor.

Fabian Schar: 5
Will be hoping for far better performances in the Premier League, that’s for sure.
Federico Fernandez: 5
Same goes for Fernandez. He had a poor night at the office.
Ciaran Clark: 5
Playing out of position, not much Clark could do.
Christian Atsu: 4
Was totally ineffective.

Ki Sung-Yeung: 5
Gave the ball away too much, but did show glimpses of talent.
Sean Longstaff: 6
One of the better players on the pitch for Newcastle. He had a solid game in midfield.
Kenedy: 5
Didn’t get the ball enough to make an impact on the game.

Muto: 4
Poor all-round. Did not take his chance at all.
Joselu: 3
Everything he did appeared to go wrong. He’s had better days.
