DeAndre Yedlin fit to play against Chelsea

Newcastle United have been given a boost ahead of Sunday’s game with Chelsea at St. James’ Park as DeAndre Yedlin has been declared fit to play.

The American international missed last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Cardiff City but he’ll be back in the starting line up when Maurizio Sarri’s side visit on Sunday.

Yedlin’s return is most welcome as Javier Manquillo, the man who replaced him at Cardiff is in a battle to be fit for the game, whilst Isaac Hayden who came on in place of Manquillo at Cardiff, is suspended after he was sent off in the game.

Speaking ahead of the game, Rafa Benitez admitted that a couple of his new signings could feature in the game as they look much fitter than they did when they first arrived at the club.

He said:

They (the new signings) are fitter and closer now. Maybe on Sunday one of them might start, but we will wait and decide.
