A deal for West Brom to sign Dwight Gayle from Newcastle has stalled, according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie.
Downie claims that the Baggies are unwilling to meet Gayle’s wage demands.
It had been claimed that the forward could join the Baggies this summer who suffered relegation to the Championship last term, with Salomon Rondon heading in the other direction.

Downie claims that West Brom would like to keep the majority of their squad together, but it is yet to be seen what the future holds for Rondon.
The striker was set to leave for Newcastle as part of the deal, but the Magpies appear unwilling to meet the striker’s release clause.
The Venezualen forward is available for £16.5 million this summer and is not expected to be part of the club’s Championship squad going forward, despite their desire to keep hold of the player.
