Newcastle United are in advanced negotiations over a loan deal for Lille midfielder Thiago Maia.
According to reports emerging out of France from Le10 Sport, as cited on Get French Football, the Lille midfielder is closing in on a move to St James’ Park.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle throughout the summer after Lille’s struggles last season.
The French side narrowly avoided relegation to the French second tier after a disappointing season on and off the bench.
Milan were also previously believed to be in the running to sign the Brazilian.
The once-promising midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time.
Chelsea were linked with a move for the player earlier in his career after coming through the ranks at Santos in Brazil.
