Mainz are demanding a fee in the region of €20 million for Newcastle and West Ham target Yoshinori Muto.
According to Bild, interest from the Premier League is growing in Muto, who is being tipped to leave the club this summer.
Both Newcastle and West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for the Japanese international, with both sides looking to add goals to their squad.

The player is due to return from his post-World Cup holiday at the end of the week, where his future could be clarified.
Despite Mainz asking for €20 million, the report also claims that the player could remain at the club this season and run down his contract, which would allow him to leave the club for nothing next summer.
Muto scored eight times in 20 Bundesliga starts last season and has previously been linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea earlier in his career.
