# Premier League new boys plot move for Newcastle forward

Fulham will reportedly turn their attention to Dwight Gayle if they are unable to seal a deal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

[The Mirror reports](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/fulham-plan-b-transfer-newcastles-12969123) that a deal to take Mitrovic to Fulham is being delayed as the player is yet to return from his post-World Cup holiday.

The Cottagers are keen to put a plan in place should a deal fail to materialise.

Newcastle are ready to sell Mitrovic this summer and a £20 million deal is believed to be close.

The Serbian does not feature in Rafa Benitez’s plans going forward and his sale would raise valuable funds for the Spaniard to use for the rest of his summer transfer business.

Fulham are keen to strengthen in the final third as they prepare for life in the top flight.

Mitrovic played a key role in Fulham’s promotion is said to be keen on returning to the club on a permanent basis.
