Tottenham look set to win the race to sign Newcastle and West Ham target Alassane Plea, according to the Telegraph.
The report claims that Newcastle are only willing to offer £20 million for the player, but Nice want closer to £27 million, leaving the door open for Spurs to steal the march.
Plea is in demand this summer but wanted to make the move to Newcastle, according to the report.

The French forward has his eyes on a Premier League switch and in particularly the chance to play under Rafa Benitez at St James’ Park.
The news will come as a huge blow to the Magpies should Spurs go on to complete a deal, with Benitez in the market to sign a prolific goalscorer this summer.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Plea throughout the summer and view the player as an alternative to Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, who they were also keen to bring into the club.
