Newcastle United have been told they’ll need to spend a club-record fee to sign Alassane Plea from Nice this summer.
The Northen Echo reports that the Magpies could land the striker, but it is going to cost them.
Newcastle, West Ham, Spurs and Borussia Monchengladbach are all interested in signing the player who Nice value at £27 million.
West Ham are reportedly ready to splash the cash on Plea, leaving Newcastle with a decision to make.

If Rafa Benitez’s men choose not to meet Nice’s asking price then they will strongly consider a move for Salomon Rondon, according to the report.
The striker has a £16.5 million release clause in his contract after West Brom were relegated from the top flight.
Plea is widely expected to leave Nice this summer after a standout campaign in Ligue 1.
The forward found the back of the net 21 times in all competitions last season and is attracting plenty of interest.
