Fenerbahce have reportedly joined the race to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels.
The Belgian international spent last season on loan at RSC Anderlecht. The Pro League club were keen to sign Sels on a permanent basis, but reports indicated that the move broke down due to disagreements over the player’s value.
According to Haberturk, a news outlet based in Turkey, Fenerbahce have expressed an interest in signing Sels, who looks all but set to secure a permanent move away from St James’ Park this summer.

The 26-year-old has only been pushed further down the pecking order following the news of Newcastle’s decision to make Martin Dubravka’s loan deal from Sparta Prague permanent.
This could lead the Magpies to sanction the sale of Sels this summer, as his future under Rafa Benitez continues to come under scrutiny.
Newcastle will be hoping to tie up all of their summer business in efficient fashion, with the season set to start in just over a month.
