Newcastle United have reportedly stolen a march on West Ham and Leicester City in the race to sign Stefano Sturaro from Juventus.
A whole host of Premier League clubs have been respectively linked with moves for the midfielder this summer but according to fresh claims from Italy, as cited by talkSPORT, Newcastle have jumped to the front of the queue.
Sturaro was used sparingly by Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri throughout last season and after years of speculation, it seems an exit from the Italian champions is on the cards.

Rafa Benitez is understood to be a keen admirer of Sturaro and his qualities, and Newcastle are reported to be closing in on a deal for the Italian international.
It’s reported that there is still some distance between Newcastle and Juventus’ respective valuations of the player, but it’s claimed by Tuttosport that talks are progressing between the two clubs.
Sturaro, 25, was also reportedly the subject of a bid from Leicester City in recent weeks.
