The South Korean international’s contract at Swansea City expires this summer and following this, he will join Rafa Benitez’s squad ahead of next season.
Ki is set to have an extended break before he begins pre-season with his new club after featuring regularly for South Korea as they were eliminated from the World Cup group stages.

Benitez has been out to add further quality to his pool of midfield options this summer, with reports linking all of Mikel Merino, Henri Saivet and Jack Colback with moves away from the club.
Ki, who was wanted by AC Milan in the January transfer window, puts pen to paper on an initial two-year deal with Newcastle as the club press ahead with their dealings.
The 29-year-old will officially join the Magpies next month, subject to him receiving an appropriate visa.
