# Newcastle braced for interest from West Brom for Aarons

Newcastle United’s forgotten man Rolando Aarons has emerged as a transfer target for Championship new boys West Brom.

[The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/rolando-aarons-west-broms-wishlist-12804077) suggests that the Baggies are keen to land the former England youth international with James McClean also set to leave the club.

Aarons has fallen out of favour at Newcastle and spent the second half of last season at Hellas Verona.

He made just one Premier League start last season prior to making the move to Italy.

Aarons would go on to make 11 appearances in Serie A but failed to impress abroad.

A lot was expected of Aarons at Newcastle, but he has failed to make the step up after breaking into the squad back in 2014, with injuries getting the better of the player.

Reid was heavily linked with a move to Albion, but Cardiff have stolen the march with the Premier League new boys closing in on a £10 million deal.
