Newcastle interested in move for Belgian attacker
Newcastle and Southampton are both said to be interested in moves for Belgian attacker Anthony Limbombe, who has been subject to a bid from Huddersfield.
It’s claimed by Belgian news outlet HLN that Newcastle are among a host of clubs who have expressed an interest in the Club Brugge player, who could be set to leave his homeland of Belgium this summer.
Limbombe is capable of playing as a natural striker but is also an adept winger, and it seems his versatility and recent form have caught the eye of many.
The 23-year-old is a wanted man, though, and Newcastle will need to fend off competition from all across Europe if they are to pursue a deal for the Club Brugge forward.
It’s stated in HLN’s report that Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and FC Schalke 04 are also in the race for Limbombe and would be able to offer him European football, while Ligue 1 giants Marseille are also touted as a potential destination.
