Fulham are stepping up their interest in Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic following their promotion to the top flight.
The Mirror claims that the Cottagers are preparing a bid to turn his loan deal into a permanent one.
Mitrovic only joined Fulham on loan during the January transfer window but made an instant impact.
The Serbian striker would go on to play a key role in the club’s promotion to the Premer League, with a number of inspiring performances.
Fulham are hoping to sign both Mitrovic and Matt Targett, who was on loan from Southampton last season.
Newcastle are open to the idea of selling the Serbian forward this summer, with the player no longer in the first-team picture under Rafa Benitez.
The transfer would also bring in further funds for the Magpies to strengthen their squad during the transfer window, with a new striker on Benitez’s wishlist.
