Newcastle have reportedly opened talks with Galatasaray over a summer deal to sign Garry Rodrigues.
The Magpies have been linked with a move for the Cape Verde international for some time now but Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim has been insistent on retaining his services.
Although Terim is still keen to keep hold of the wide player, according to Turkish news outlet Aksam, it seems a move away for Rodrigues could be on the cards as Newcastle accelerate their pursuit of the player.

The report indicates that Newcastle are not totally convinced by Galatasaray’s €20 million valuation of the player, but they are extremely keen to recruit Rodrigues this summer.
Rafa Benitez is understood to be keen on recruiting a new winger and after months of scouting Rodrigues, it comes as no surprise to see that talks have apparently opened over a possible summer.
Rodrigues was linked with Everton earlier on in the season, but it seems Newcastle are making the strongest efforts to land the player.
