Newcastle United have been linked with a summer swoop for Spartak Moscow star Quincy Promes.
The Netherlands international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and it seems Newcastle are the latest side to have expressed an interest in signing the player.
Promes was close to joining Southampton in the January transfer window but the Saints failed to get a deal over the line before the deadline. According to the Southern Daily Echo, however, they now face stiff competition for the player’s signature.

The tricky wide man has been in exceptional form for both club and country in recent times, which appears to have only piqued the interest of potential suitors.
Southampton were understood to have offered in the region of £25 million for Promes in January but saw their attempts rebuffed by Spartak, who stood firm in their valuation of the player.
Newcastle will be forced to cough up a substantial sum if they are to lure Promes away from Russia this summer, it seems.
