Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a summer swoop for Young Boys centre-back Kasim Nuhu.
The Magpies were linked with a move for the Ghanaian international last summer and it seems as though they remain keen to land the central defender ahead of next season.
African reports, as cited by the Shields Gazette, indicate that Newcastle have emerged as a potential suitor for Nuhu, who could leave Switzerland this summer.
Rafa Benitez will be keen to add further reinforcements to his Newcastle squad this summer and although the squad is well stocked with centre-back options, Nuhu has emerged as a potential signing.
However, Chancel Mbemba is likely to leave St James’ Park this summer amid interest from RSC Anderlecht, meaning that Benitez may feel that strengthening the backline’s depth could be a worthy use of the transfer window.
Nuhu is understood to be valued in the region of £8m by Young Boys, which would undoubtedly be an affordable outlay for the Magpies.
