Rafa Benitez has set his sights on signing a new right-back this summer, according to the Chronicle.
After securing their place in the top flight for next season, Benitez will be looking to strengthen his squad to build upon their success.
The Magpies will need a replacement for the departing Jesus Gamez, who has failed to impress since making the move from La Liga.
Benitez wants to add some serious competition for DeAndre Yedlin, who has been largely unchallenged in the Newcastle side throughout the season.
The former Spurs defender has impressed during the campaign, making the step up from the Championship last season.
Torino defender Lorenzo De Silvestri has been linked with a move to Newcastle, but a deal is far from completed.
It is unclear how concrete Newcastle’s interest in De Silvestri is with Torino desperate to keep hold of the experienced defender.
