Newcastle submit bid for Swedish forward

Newcastle have submitted a ‘concrete’ bid for Swedish forward Kerim Mrabti, according to Belgian outlet HLN, via nufcblog.

The 24-year-old has been dubbed ‘the next Eden Hazard’ in Sweden, after his impressive performances for Swedish Premier League side Djurgardens IF.

Mrabti has been capped three times by the Swedish national team and the Magpies have reportedly outbid both Udinese and Club Brugge for the winger.

United are understood to have offered a bid in excess of £1 million for the Swede, which must near the asking price of £1.3 million.

Djurgardens refused to let their star man leave in January as they needed him to help secure the Swedish Cup, which he did.

The Swedish Premier League side are now open to offers for the 24-year-old, who has scored five and assisted two so far this season, will want the chance to test himself in the best league in the world.

matchday.
