Chancel Mbemba is likely to leave Newcastle United this summer and according to the Chronicle, Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have expressed an interest in signing him.
The defender has fallen down the pecking order at St James’ Park and could be forced to look elsewhere in his bid to play regular, first-team football.
Mbemba has been linked with a few clubs now and the latest to join the race for his signature is Hoffenheim who, managed by the impressive Julian Nagelsmann, finished third in the Bundesliga this season.

The DR Congo international is keen to continue playing in a top European league, it is claimed in the report, therefore Hoffenheim’s interest could come as pleasing news for the player.
Mbemba has also been linked with a surprise return to RSC Anderlecht this summer, as his future at Newcastle becomes increasingly uncertain.
It’s stated that Mbemba’s agent has been told to actively seek potential destinations for his client, with Rafa Benitez deeming the player surplus to his requirements for the upcoming season.
