Amid rumours that Mikel Merino is leaving Newcastle United, the midfielder said he would “be happy” to move to another club.
Spanish newspaper AS are reporting that Merino could potentially seal a move to Spanish side Real Betis and is more than open to leaving the Magpies this summer.
The Spaniard has continuously been linked with a move away from St James Park ever since he joined the club in 2017 and now Newcastle have decided that they are going to allow clubs to approach them over the player.
The 21-year-old made a good start to his career in England this season but the player suffered a back injury which lead to a loss of form upon his return.
Merino is open to a move away from Newcastle so that he can try to find his form again and become a regular starter every week.
Betis are planning on making a 10 million euro bid for the player.
