Real Betis plot swoop to sign Newcastle striker
Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez is reportedly a target for Real Betis this summer.
According to claims from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga outfit have identified Perez as a top target ahead of next season as they aim to strengthen their attacking options.
Perez finished the season as Newcastle’s top goalscorer in the recently finished season. He netted on eight separate occasions in the Premier League and he also racked up the most assists in the Magpies’ squad with five to his name.
Betis’ interest in signing the Spaniard appears to be genuine but, as stated by Mundo Deportivo, convincing Newcastle to offload Perez is set to be a difficult task.
Perez only recently put pen to paper on an extended contract at Newcastle and has a deal which runs until 2021, meaning that if Rafa Benitez’s men are persuaded to sell up, it will be because of a sizable offer from any potential suitor.
