# Newcastle v Tottenham Hotspur: Key Battles

Newcastle United travel to London tonight to face Tottenham Hotspur in a game that has much more significance for the hosts than the Magpies.

With two matches remaining for both clubs, the Magpies are firmly lodged in mid-table while Spurs need the points in order to secure Champions League football next campaign.

Since securing their Premier League status the Toon have suffered a mini dip in form and have lost their last three matches on the spin.

Last time out, they went down 2-1 at Watford, with Ayoze Perez pulling one back after Roberto Pereyra and Andre Gray had given the Hornets a two-goal cushion.

Tonight’s opponents Spurs also suffered defeat by a one-goal margin the last time they played, as Jake Livermore’s stoppage-time winner gave West Brom brief hope of beating the drop before they were relegated yesterday.

The North-London outfit are currently two points ahead of Chelsea and know that winning their final two matches will give them a place at European football’s top table going into their new home next season.

Ahead of the match, we’ve compiled a list of key battles that could determine the outcome of the match…
