Newcastle Player Ratings: Watford (A)

Newcastle suffered defeat to Watford this afternoon at Vicarage Road, with the Magpies looking second best for the entire 90 minutes.

Watford started as they meant to go on, with Roberto Pereyra scoring within two minutes to give Watford an early lead.

They would then double their lead in the 28th minute, with Andre Gray tapping home from close range to give the Hornets a two-goal advantage.

Watford would then have a penalty saved by Newcastle Keeper Martin Dubravka, denying the Hornets a third goal.

Ayoze Perez would get one back for Newcastle in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough and Rafa Benitez’s side suffered another defeat.

The result secured Watford’s Premier League status for next season.
