Newcastle United are a team on the up following a difficult start to the season and last time out, they overcame Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
With five games of the Premier League season remaining, they sit 10th with 41 points from a possible 99 on offer.
Having surpassed the magical 40 point mark they are all-but safe from relegation, although they could still mathematically be caught by Southampton, showing just how close the league has been this season.
However, manager Rafael Benitez will now have one eye on preparations for next season, with Read Newcastle reporting earlier today that the Spaniard is keen on signing Chelsea youngster Kenedy on a permanent basis following his impressive loan spell.
Another method that the Magpies could go down is plucking players from the Champioship who have done well this season and deserve a chance at the top level.
