David Jones of Sky Sports said during the coverage of Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Arsenal:

He said:

> They have more chance, they think, of making the loan signing of their goalkeeper Martin Dubravka permanent \[than Kenedy\].

> Our sources tell us the option is there, the intention is there, to make it a permanent signing.

> They just haven’t got it over the line just yet.

They might struggle to sign Kenedy however, with the Brazilian linked with a move to one of Europe’s top clubs.

> Newcastle would love to keep him (Kenedy).

> The problem is his form has alerted one or two of Europe’s major clubs. So that might be a bit of a barrier.
