Newcastle United have given Oguzhan Ozyakup’s agent the green light as they agree to meet his wage demands.
Fanatik report that the Magpies are being heavily linked with a summer move for the Turkish midfielder.
Wage demands were originally thought to be a problem for any potential deal, but it now appears Newcastle are ready to stump up the necessary cash.
Ozyakup is out of contract at the end of the season and is reportedly demanding €2.5 million a season.
West Ham and Everton have also been linked with the former Arsenal midfielder in the past, but Newcastle appear to be leading the race to sign him this summer.
The midfielder has previously talked up the chances of moving to the Premier League, joining his fellow countryman Cenk Tosun in England, amid interest from Everton.
Newcastle look to have secured their place in the Premier League next season with a 2-1 win away at Leicester and will undoubtedly begin planning potential deals for their next campaign in the top flight.
