Consortium already planning takeover plans after fresh talks

Amanda Staveley could still complete a deal to buy Newcastle United after holding fresh talks with Mike Ashley.

The Mirror report that a deal is back on despite the pair’s previous talks breaking down.

Staveley was spotted at St James’ Park earlier this season, sparking talk of a takeover at the club.

However, she was unable to meet Ashley’s £350 million asking price and a deal fell through.

Reports have suggested that Newcastle’s uncertain position in the Premier League had seen the deal stall.

Since then, Rafa Benitez appears to have guided the Magpies to safety following Saturday’s 2-1 win away at Leicester City.

Newcastle currently sit 10th in the Premier League, 10 points above the drop zone with six games remaining this season.

Staveley and her PCP Partners group reportedly believe that a deal could be reached for roughly £300 million. The report suggests that the group are already planning to improve the club’s training facilities.
