# Major boost for Newcastle with attacker in-line to feature against Huddersfield

Islam Slimani could finally make his Newcastle United debut against Huddersfield Town.

[Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-feel-islam-slimani-14447133?_ga=2.192734314.1504416266.1521886355-1333881808.1511513987) report that the Magpies believe that the striker could be in contention for a place in the squad.

The striker was recently called up to the Algerian squad but missed out on their 4-1 win over Tanzania.

Algeria are due to face Iran on Tuesday but Rafa Benitez’s backroom team are hoping the striker will be left out, rather than being risked.

Slimani joined the club on loan during the January transfer window from Leicester City but has been unable to make to make an impact since arriving.

The Algerian has not featured since the middle of the January in Leicester’s FA Cup clash with Fleetwood.

The Magpies have been lacking goals this season upon their return to the Premier League and they’ll be hoping a strong finish to the campaign can keep them in the top flight.
