Newcastle eye permanent move for Kenedy

Rafa Benitez wants to sign on-loan Chelsea star Kenedy permanently if the Magpies can keep their status in the Premier League this season.

The Telegraph claims that Newcastle boss has expressed his desire to keep the Brazilian at the club beyond his loan spells which runs until the end of the season.

Kenedy impressed for the Magpies over the weekend, scoring twice in a crucial 3-0 home victory over Southampton.

He has also impressed fans at St James’ Park with his flair and trickery during his brief stay at Newcastle.

The versatile wide man was sent out on loan in January after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.

The Brazilian had a disruptive pre-season campaign and questions were raised about his attitude off the pitch.

His immediate future at Stamford Bridge remains unclear, but with Conte also likely to depart this summer, there may well be a route back into the club for the player who joined back in 2015.
