Newcastle’s loan move for Joe Hart was denied by West Ham

Newcastle United tried to sign Joe Hart during the January transfer window but West Ham blocked the goalkeeper’s exit, according to the Mirror.

Since Hart was unable to play against his parent club, Manchester City, Adrian has come in for the English keeper and has impressed since for West Ham, leaving World Cup hopeful Hart on the bench, who has only made cup appearances since the Spaniard has come in.

As a makeweight for the move, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez offered one of his reserve goalkeepers to West Ham but the London club said no.

Newcastle were in the market for a new goalkeeper during January and brought in Martin Dubravka instead, who massively impressed in a 1-0 win against Manchester United yesterday.

With West Ham out of the cup competitions, Hart faces the prospect of limited first-team chances until the summer.
