The Magpies have been chasing the Brazilian youngster’s signature for some time now and they have finally secured his services, albeit on a short-term deal.
Kenedy will pull on the black and white shirt for the remaining months of the season as he hopes to help Rafa Benitez’s side in their pursuit of Premier League safety.
The versatile Brazilian is Newcastle’s first signing of the January transfer window, which has so far been underwhelming following the collapse of the proposed takeover from PCP Capital Partners and the limited funds available to Benitez.
Kenedy was poised to receive even less game time at Stamford Bridge as Emerson Palmieri closes in on a move from Roma, and he will hope that he can tie down a place at Newcastle until the end of the season.
