# Brighton linked with a move for Mitrovic

According to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11741/11220068/brighton-interested-in-newcastles-aleksandar-mitrovic), Brighton are the latest side to join the race for wantaway Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbian international is keen to depart St James’ Park this January, as he has previously confirmed, and it seems he will not be short of potential suitors if he is allowed to leave.

Newcastle have been linked with a whole host of strikers in recent times and Rafa Benitez has made it no secret that he is on the lookout for added attacking inspiration.

However, with funds limited, it looks like the Spaniard may need to balance the books by selling Mitrovic if he is to recruit a new forward for his side.

Brighton have only recently acquired Jurgen Locadia from PSV for a club-record fee, but it seems they will also make an approach to land 23-year-old Mitrovic from Newcastle.

West Brom have also been linked with the former Anderlecht striker this month.
