Newcastle have reportedly agreed a deal for Kenedy

Newcastle United appear to have finally made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Chelsea youngster Kenedy.

According to a report from Sky Sports, the Magpies have agreed a deal in principle’ with the Blues as they look to bring the versatile Brazilian to St James’ Park.

Kenedy, 21, has been linked with a move to Newcastle for some time now and is understood to be one of Rafa Benitez’s primary targets for the January transfer window.

It was thought that Chelsea were keen to retain Kenedy’s services as Antonio Conte looked for a replacement. Given the exciting wide man’s ability to play as a left wing-back, he was an important backup for the Blues.

However, with the club set to sign Emerson Palmieri in the next week, it seems Kenedy will become available, opening the door for him to join Newcastle.

The Magpies are yet to sign a player this month but they appear to finally be making progress with potential deals in the latter stages of the transfer window.
