Newcastle United are keen to land Everton winger Aaron Lennon this month, according to a report from ESPN.
The experienced wide man is likely to be out of favour with the Toffees. Following the arrival of Theo Walcott from Arsenal for £20m, it seems that Lennon has been pushed even further down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
Lennon’s deal at the Merseyside outfit expires at the end of the season and if he is not rewarded with a new deal by the club, he will walk away as a free agent in the summer.

However, the Magpies appear to be keen on bringing him to St James’ Park in the ongoing transfer window. Manager Rafa Benitez wants to add more quality to the ranks this month and if ESPN are to be believed, Lennon is a target for the Spaniard.
It’s stated that Newcastle are hoping to secure the former Tottenham man for a cut-price in the coming weeks, with Lennon’s contractual situation meaning that Everton could cash in.
