# Newcastle have bid turned down for Firmin Mubele

Newcastle have reportedly had a bid rejected for Rennes attacker Firmin Mubele.

According to a report from Goal France, as cited by [GFFN](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2018/rennes-reject-e12m-bid-for-firmin-mubele-from-bournemouth/), the Magpies have had an opening offer for the forward turned down, as Rennes hold out for a bigger fee.

It’s claimed that, since the summer transfer window, Newcastle have had an open offer worth just €6m on the table for Mubele, with the Ligue 1 outfit regarding this as insufficient. With the attacker now in good form, his stock is only increasing.

Newcastle’s fellow Premier League strugglers Bournemouth have reportedly made a bid worth €12m in recent times, but that too has been turned down by Rennes.

It’s stated that the French outfit want to receive a minimum of €15m from any potential sale of Mubele, as 20% of the fee will go to Al Ahli, the player’s former club.

Newcastle will need to up their bid hugely if they are to land Mubele.
