# Bordeaux negotiating move for Newcastle forward

Aleksandar Mitrovic confirmed his desire to leave Newcastle United in recent times and it seems he is wasting no time in discussing potential moves elsewhere.

According to a report from [RMC Sport](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/en-direct-les-infos-mercato-du-8-janvier-1607.html), the Serbian international is considering a move to France. Mitrovic is stated to be in negotiations with Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux, with the club currently struggling for form in the French top tier.

It’s claimed by RMC that Bordeaux are staging talks with Mitrovic and his representatives, with a move away on the agenda this month.

The report indicates that wages could prove to be a difficult point in talks between the player and Bordeaux, with Mitrovic understood to be on wages in the region of £60,000.

Newcastle are chasing other striking targets in the mid-season transfer window and there is clearly an intention to offload Mitrovic, with the player also looking to seek pastures new away from St James’ Park.

It seems a move to Bordeaux is plausible for Mitrovic, who will look to revitalise himself in the remainder of the campaign.
