Newcastle to complete Kenedy deal next week
Newcastle United hope to complete the loan signing of Kenedy next week, according to the Telegraph.
The Brazilian has been widely expected to make the move to St James’ Park this January, but the deal has been held as Chelsea look to complete their own transfer business.
Antonio Conte wanted to keep the wide man at the club for cover, but the move to let Kenedy leave the club could suggest the Blues are close to signing his replacement.
Rafa Benitez hopes that Chelsea’s deal to sign Ross Barkley from Everton will be enough to convince Conte to push through a deal next week.
Newcastle were linked with Kenedy, who can play as a left-back and as a winger, throughout the summer but Chelsea kept him at the club.
The player had a disruptive pre-season that saw him sent home from a pre-season tour of China for disciplinary issues.
