Newcastle target linked with Russia move

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has made it clear that he wishes to bolster his squad during the current window, however, Benitez looks set to miss out on one of his main targets, with Chelsea winger Kenedy set to join Lokomotiv Moscow, according to Extra.

It has been widely reported that Benitez was open to the idea of bringing in the Brazilian on loan until the end of the season, however, it looks like the talented youngster is heading to Russia to gain more first team football instead.

The Magpies were close to bringing the versatile player to St James Park in the summer, however, Chelsea’s lack of signings meant that the player remained at Stamford Bridge.

There may still be hope for Benitez however, who is a huge admirer of the 21-year-old, if he can guarantee the Blues and the player regular first team football, after making only three starts for Chelsea all season.
