Newcastle are reportedly interested in luring Rennes attacker Firmin Ndombe Mubele to St James’ Park in January.
According to a report from the Guardian, the Magpies want to bolster their attacking ranks by recruiting the versatile forward, who is a full international for DR Congo.
Newcastle have been shy in front of goal this season and Rafa Benitez will undoubtedly be looking far and wide as he aims to recruit additional firepower in the January transfer window.
Mubele has netted on five occasions in his last 12 starts, establishing himself as a highly promising player for Rennes. However, it seems a loan move would be the preferred choice for Newcastle, as per Ed Aarons of the Guardian.

West Brom are also reportedly interested in signing the attacker, who can play all across the front line.
