Leicester City are said to be expecting an offer from Newcastle United for Islam Slimani in January, the Daily Mail reports.
The Magpies have been linked with a move for the Algerian international for some time now and it has been claimed of late that they will make a move for him when the transfer window opens next week.
Reports had also claimed, though, that due to Newcastle’s ongoing takeover discussions, a move could be difficult to negotiate. However, the Daily Mail state that Leicester are awaiting an offer from Newcastle, implying that a deal may not be dead just yet.

Slimani is hugely out of favour at Leicester, with boss Claude Puel evidently favouring Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki.
Newcastle have struggled to score goals this season and are in need of some attacking inspiration. Rafa Benitez is keen to add to his ranks in January and Slimani is seemingly a target for the Spaniard still.
