# Newcastle planning January clear out to raise funds

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is planning a January clear out to raise funds transfer funds.

[Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-aiming-clear-decks-14071599) reports that Henri Saivet, Mo Diame, Massadio Haidara, Jack Colback and Rolando Aarons could all be shown the door in the new year.

It remains unclear just how much money Benitez will get to spend from Mike Ashley with takeover talks rumbling on in the background.

With that in mind, Benitez is looking to raise funds from within by streamlining his squad.

Saivet has featured just once for Newcastle this season and has not lived up to expectation since joining from Bordeaux.

Diame is another midfielder who has fallen out of favour since the club’s return to the top flight, starting just four games in the league.

Reports have suggested that Jack Colback has been offered back to his former side Sunderland.

While Aarons has seen his development stall at Newcastle with a lack of regular game time.
