Newcastle United are reportedly interested in bringing Islam Slimani to St James’ Park in the January transfer window, but the takeover talks may stop the deal from happening, according to the Leicester Mercury.
It is reported that if Amanda Staveley is successful in taking over Newcastle United Football Club, Rafa Benitez may have £40 million to spend in January, but it is uncertain if the owner of the club will be Mike Ashley, who will not go near the figure, or Amanda Staveley.
Staveley has offered £300 million to Ashley for the club, but he is aiming to receive a figure closer to £350 million for Newcastle United.

Benitez is keen on bringing the 29-year-old to Tyneside, as he looks to add to his strike force, with Joselu and Ayoze Perez rarely getting on the scoresheet and Aleksandar Mitrovic struggling for minutes.
Leicester want to get back the majority of the £29 million they paid to Sporting for him. Newcastle also face competition for him, as Stoke City, West Brom and Watford have all expressed an interest in the Algerian.
